The patter of rain drops roll down the front window. A pair of hazel eyes peers out past the sinewy lines of water into what is supposed to be her playground. Little Ginny Nallion sits on the front window bench, left home alone again by her Mom, unable to go outside, not allowed to touch ANYTHING inside. Being the product of the intelligent, but superficial 'it couple,' Ginny is barely allowed any trust inside of her parents perfect house. Mainly because she has a nose for trouble...As Ginny begins to search for any form of entertainment or distraction, her mind and self-control begins to wander, leading her to the doorway of her Father's office. She tempestuously opens the door and quickly forgets her parent's orders, lost in the mystery and thrill of doing something forbidden. 'Rain, Rain' is best summed up by its dual nature. It begins as a mood piece, a reflection on what the director remembers rainy days felt like as a kid. Soft but limiting, like being pinned down with a warm blanket. From this we move to a scene of imagination, the joy of making stuff up.A very distinct feeling, one the crew felt while filming. We generously used our rain rig to fake the storm & the mix of the constant patter & birds singing outside led to a very sedated and contemplative crew. Everyone mentioned how friggin' quiet it was on set.
