STRENGTH AND HONOUR is a story of hope and love, sacrifice and devotion, set against the violent underground world of bare-knuckle boxing.
Feature Film/International Film
Welcome to the world of hipsterdom, where your worth is determined by how many people know you, how cynical you can be about current trends, and how little you can do on a weekday. Meet Terrence, who will do anything to become popular. Unfortunately The Black Guts, his indie rock band, is the biggest joke on the scene. To make matters worse, he still has a thing for his ex-girlfriend Sue Byrkrit. Too bad she?s dating the uber-hipster/music critic, Connor Rooney. Terrance?s best friend and voice of reason is Theo Huxtable, a struggling writer who penned a novel entitled, Truck Stop Hustler. The book is about a fictional character named KK Downey, who just happens to be a teenage prostitute. Theo can?t seem to generate interest any in Truck Stop. As he?s told, people aren?t interested in reading dark material written by a `chubby white kid?. The band sucks and the book is collecting dust. So, what are these two failures going to do? They are going to scratch off Theo?s name as the author of Truck Stop and replace it with KK Downey?s. Terrance throws on a long black wig, dark glasses and in an instant they have created the quintessential tortured artist/hipster poster boy. As a memoir, the book sells like hot cakes and KK Downey becomes a sensation, with Theo acting as his manager.

Welcome to the 2009 Indie Spirit Film Festival
The Indie Spirit Film Festival is an annual event for filmmakers (professionals and students) and film lovers alike, with a superb program of feature films, shorts, docs, animation, and many other films from around the world.

Indie Spirit also has a sub-theme in which Native American films are showcased. A portion of the proceeds from the ticket sales for Native American films will be donated to social programs at reservations across North America.

Indie Spirit is about filmmakers establishing a relationship with audiences, distributors, and other filmmakers.

Currently, Colorado Springs is very fortunate to have two major film festivals (Rocky Mountain Woman's Film Festival and Pikes Peak Lavender Film Festival) which turn out hundreds to thousands of people annually; however, this will be Colorado Springs first film festival that welcomes filmmakers to submit films who are of any age, gender, or sexual orientation. It is truly a festival open to anyone who has a good quality film to present.
