Feature Film/International Film
Welcome to Absurdistan, a small village in the high desert mountains, just on the outskirts of reality, where magical visions and bizarre events fuse together, but the sexes are divided. The village is facing a water shortage, but the men are too lazy to fix a rickety pipeline and the women are getting fed up with their good-for-nothing husbands. Led by young Aya (Kristyna Malerova), the women make a simple vow: “No water, no sex.” The men’s only hope is Temelko (Maximilian Mauff), whose long-promised wedding with Aya is put on hold until he finds a solution to the water problem. From the wild imagination of the award-winning director of Tuvalu comes this perfectly pitched lyrical comedy that is romantic, surreal and boundlessly poetic.
Feature Film
Tyler Clarke is on the redeye to New York City. Her sister is in some kind of trouble and her phones been disconnected. But when Tyler arrives to the city, Jessica is nowhere to be found. She finds that these people have formed a group called 'The Collective.' And Jessica is one of them. In order to save her sister, Tyler must face the real possibility of loosing her, and maybe even loosing her own life. But Tyler will stop at nothing. When their Mother died, Tyler promised that she would take care of her sister, and now she intends to make good.

Welcome to the 2009 Indie Spirit Film Festival
The Indie Spirit Film Festival is an annual event for filmmakers (professionals and students) and film lovers alike, with a superb program of feature films, shorts, docs, animation, and many other films from around the world.

Indie Spirit also has a sub-theme in which Native American films are showcased. A portion of the proceeds from the ticket sales for Native American films will be donated to social programs at reservations across North America.

Indie Spirit is about filmmakers establishing a relationship with audiences, distributors, and other filmmakers.

Currently, Colorado Springs is very fortunate to have two major film festivals (Rocky Mountain Woman's Film Festival and Pikes Peak Lavender Film Festival) which turn out hundreds to thousands of people annually; however, this will be Colorado Springs first film festival that welcomes filmmakers to submit films who are of any age, gender, or sexual orientation. It is truly a festival open to anyone who has a good quality film to present.
